UMW-United Methodist Women

The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ, to develop a creative, supportive fellowship, and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the Church.

The United Methodist Women of Swartz Creek United Methodist Church raise money in various ways to support our mission outreach. Our major fund raiser is our rummage sales which are held each year in January and August. Other ways of raising money are Blanket Sunday, various dinners, donations, etc.

Listed below are some of the various activities the UMW participates in:

•Collected glasses for Dr. Clifford Cox to take to Africa
•Making of booties and caps for the neonatal unit at Hurley
•Participate in School of Christian Missions
•Serve funeral dinners as needed
•Oversees keeping the kitchen pantry stocked
•Collected suitcases to be donated to be used by foster children
•Goodie baskets given to our shut-ins at Christmas and Easter
