Grow Groups – Winter 2021
You Are Never Alone – Group Leader: Elizabeth Elsesser
Description: In You Are Never Alone, Max Lucado looks at the miracles of Jesus as recorded in the Gospel of John. John chose the stories and events from Jesus’ life that he believed would give his readers strength, empower them, lift them up, and speak life into their situations. Today, take courage that you are stronger than you think because God is nearer than you know. This is the message of the miracles . . . that with God you are never alone.
Times: Online Zoom Class – Tuesdays 6:00-7:30 PM – January 5 – February 9
Pastor Dan’s Study on Galatians – Group Leader: Pastor Dan
Description: Chapters 4-6 of Paul’s letter to the Galatians deal with some of the earliest struggles of the Christian community and present practical instructions that still apply to the struggles we still experience today.
Times: Online Zoom Class – Wednesdays – 7:00-8:00 PM – January 6-February 10
Proverbs Bible Study – Group Leader: Carolyn Landis
Description: Proverbs has often been called the “Book of Wisdom”. There is a huge difference between knowledge (knowing the facts) and wisdom (applying those facts to life). During this study our desire will be to grow in Godly wisdom as we navigate in a world that often tries to pull us from the truths of God’s Word.
Times: Online Zoom Class – Tuesdays 1:30-3:00 PM – January 5-February 9
Armor of God Facebook Bible Study – Group Leader: Cheryl Bernritter
Description: In this 7 session study by Priscilla Shirer, we are taught that the enemy is attacking us from all sides to destroy our relationship with God, and our personal relationships in our earthly lives. He wages an invisible war against us that can only be fought by putting on the full armor of God to fight against him. Based on Ephesians 6:11-18, we are taught an action plan for developing a strategy of victory against these attempts of Satan to destroy our Christian walk.
Times: 7 Week ongoing study on Facebook from January 7 – February 19
It’s Not Supposed to Be This Way – Group Leader: Cindy Verhaeghe
Description: What happens when life looks very different from the reality we long for? This study by Lisa TerKeurst offers a Biblical perspective and hard-won advice to encourage readers facing their own challenges. Find unexpected strength while wrestling between faith and feelings and learn how to stand through uncertainty and trust in God’s goodness.
